SYNOPSIS

Texts by Horracio Ferrer | Music by Astor Piazzolla

María de Buenos Aires beautifully merges the elements of dance, vocals, narration and instruments into a story that unfolds in a glorious underworld of love and passion. Although the heroine dies a tragic death early in the story, she returns ethereally throughout the performance, and the audience too, can abandon realism. Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla has written an operetta that audiences will experience in a profound way.
